Lastarria, formerly known as “La Cañada”, was the first neighbourhood founded in the city of Santiago. Its historical and cultural surroundings emerge from a natural walk through Parque Forestal, through the National Museum of Fine Arts, Santa Lucia Hill, and the city's Municipal Theatre. The tour ends with a variety of restaurants, pubs and independent design shops which consolidate this area as one the most attractive and visited of the city.

In 2001 Lastarria road opened as a pedestrian promenade from Rosal to Merced road, hosting an antique market, second hand books and independent design stalls, as well becoming a stage to different artistic performances.
